On the specific question of SIS logging (and admitting in advance that I know nothing about SIS), could we use something like [this](https://sis.apache.org/apidocs/org/apache/sis/util/logging/LoggerFactory.html) to plug in our usual SLF4J API, or is there something more subtle going on here?
