At 27.1 and 28.0, shading does not work, resulting in problems with the use of
googe cache code. Dependencies? Theer are some related-looking reports showing
in a web search.
As a result, I suggest we wait a few versions unless a specific need arises.
Marked "resolved, won't fix" for now.
