Hello,
Using JMeter on a complex scripting campaign, I had to repeatedly do some
debugging, complex correlation and had some further thoughts on JMeter
ergonomy:

*View Results Tree:*
- I feel the select box at the bottom left of component allowing selection
of a Viewer is misplaced. I often switch between Viewers during scripting
and I think it should a Tabbed Pane on the Top Center Right Part of View
Results Tree or something better if you have ideas. This would make it
more visible and allow easy switching. Currently you lose a lot of time
switching and finding the right component
I also think we should at least change their display priority, I tend to
think it should be something like
- Text
- Regexp Tester
- CSS / JQUERY Test
- XPATH Tester
- HTML
- HTML (download) => Very annoying that it blocks screen to download
resource
- Document
- JSON => Not very useful currently
- XML => Do you use it ?

Yes it's a good idea to change order. Except perhaps Text plain view, the order for others renderers can be different in function of situation.
Perhaps, introduce a property for ordering the renderers?

- In View Results Tree, most of the time the upper part of Panel (Name,
Comments, FileName are not used and take a lot of place, it should be
possible to maximize the bottom part to gain space

Yes, it's would be great to add an button for expand (like Jmeter-plugins) the render view.

- It would be nice to be able to remove a Sample from View Results Tree
left Tree

Why not... but why/how to?

-There should be a smarter resizing policy in View Results Tree when a
Sample Label takes a lot of place, currently a scrollbar appears and a
little scrolling to the right occurs, hiding children of sample

What are your suggestions for improving it?

*Miscellaneous:*
- We should have a record button in Toolbar to avoid having to switch down
in the tree, unfold Recorder and click Start, something like 5 gestures vs
one:
1) Click in tree
2) Scroll down
3) Unfold until recorder
4) Click on node
5) Click on start

Why not, but how to do this when you have several HTTP(S) Test Script Recorder?
Perhaps, add a button with a combo list to choose the recorder.

- On MacOSX LnF I feel there is a very annoying behaviour that selects all
content of text field each time field gets focus, you very easily delete
your content

Unfortunately I've never used a Mac OS X :-)

Thoughts ?

Any other ideas ?
