Unless the bug is regarded as being serious and a regression it's
unlikely that a new release will be produced in the short term.

So I think we should release and if necessary provide a 3.0.1 version.

However, it looks like there is more to the bug report.
It may turn out to be a usage issue.

I suggest we keep the vote open and hold off actual release until the
status of the bug is clear, so that we can provide updated release
notes if necessary
