+1 for moving to git. I think the biggest benefit to move to git is that it will make the merging of all the PRs we get on the github mirror easier ;) Which might then lead to more people more willing to do it and therefore lead to more contributions.
Does anyone know the ratio of Github PRs to patches via BZ in the last few releases? Both SVN/Ant and git/Gradle "work", so it comes down to developer experience of using but also finding help and getting support.
