I think I used 'git clone -b gradle --depth 1
https://github.com/vlsi/jmeter.git'

$ git remote -v
origin https://github.com/vlsi/jmeter.git (fetch)
origin https://github.com/vlsi/jmeter.git (push)

Why is it necessary to reset?

I have other clones where I don't update locally, and git pull works fine.
