It's been replaced by some of the stack inspection methods in ruby-debug, which
is a C gem.

I suppose we need jruby-debug soon.
FWIW, that embedded scripting-language blog post from a while back used
Binding.of_caller, to allow embedding those scripts as though they were
working in the current scope.
