Yeah, Bill's done a hell of a piece of work on this. Anyone who's interested in this stuff should apply the patch, play with it, test it out, look for any broken edge cases, and add wiki entries about everything you find. Personally I think it seems so right and really beautiful, especially since we now have the Java hierarchy truly and cleanly reflected in the Ruby hierarchy, and all cases of reopening classes that you'd expect to work will work. Very nice.
Give it a go. We'll probably commit it in the next day or so, hopefully with Bill's set of tests.
BTW Bill...you need to request to be added to the project so we can give you commit rights and all.
