The ruby-openid gem seems to use FileTest#chardev? which isn't currently
implemented in JRuby. Discussing it on IRC with Charlie, he suggests that it
should just return true unless it's testing against a socket or stdio.
headius: we should just have that return true if not a socket or stdio
headius: I believe there's a bug for it, but if you want to help out you could
find that bug or file a new one
