Hi!

I'm running JRuby on my IMac (2 GHz PowerPC G5, MacOS Leopard) and I'm
a bit surprised by the long startup times. I just wonder if the
figures I get are "normal"?

-------------------------
$ time ./jruby-1.0/bin/jruby -e 'puts :hello'
hello
        3.65 real         3.06 user         0.38 sys
$
$ time ./jruby-1.1b1/bin/jruby -e 'puts :hello'
hello
        6.77 real         5.82 user         0.60 sys
$
$ time ./jruby--by-svn/jruby/bin/jruby -e 'puts :hello'
hello
        6.68 real         5.77 user         0.61 sys
$
$ svn info ./jruby--by-svn/jruby | grep 'Last Changed \(Rev\|Date\)'
Last Changed Rev: 5162
Last Changed Date: 2007-12-04 19:49:18 +0100 (Tis, 04 Dec 2007)
$
$ java -version
java version "1.5.0_13"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_13-b05-237)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_13-119, mixed mode, sharing)
-------------------------

As you can see the startup times have increased considerably since 1.0
and are now close to 7 seconds. Is that what I should expect?
