Netbeans 6.1 200712091200 and earlier versions including 6.0
Netbeans installed c:\netbeans...
Install Gem (for example) rawr
ruby platform adds 2 files in ruby/bin dir rawr & rawr.cmd
jruby platform only adds rawr
therefore in jruby case, rawr cannot be run from command line
same case for all other gems tried.
Other problems experienced with vista install
Environment variables MUST not include GEM_PATH or GEM_HOME or the gem
gui fails to find gems. Even if the variables do not contain values.
If netbeans is installed in program files dir the system seems to be
unusable due to problems with permissions and vista use of virtual store
This is my experience, please advise if I have lost the plot.
