Subject: Buildr 1.3 will run on JRuby 1.1
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Just to let you all know, we just finished porting Buildr 1.3 to run on
JRuby 1.1. Thank Victor Hugo Borja for all his hard work making it
possible.

So for Buildr 1.3 you get two options, you can run it on the standard Ruby (
1.8.6) or with JRuby 1.1. We'll add instructions in the download section on
how to do that.

Couple of notes. JRuby 1.1 is still in development, the latest release we
tested on is 1.1RC1, but 1.1 is around the corner and we're targeting for
that. Meanwhile, you can use 1.1RC1:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BUILDR-3

We did find a few issues with JRuby, and reported to the JRuby team, but
since our test coverage is incomplete, some features may not work. We know
compiling, running test cases, packaging and all other core tasks work. We
don't know about IDE tasks (Eclipse, IDEA), extensions located in the buildr
directory (OpenJPA, Jetty, Corbertura, etc) and the release task.

Obviously we'll patch broken stuff as we go along.
