What version of Hpriocot are you running?
Can you make a simple test which shows the problem?
If so could you try it with an updated version of Hpricot with Nick
Sieger's patches applied. I've got a copy of the patched gem online
here:
http://www.telscenter.org/confluence/download/attachments/20236/hpricot-0.6.159-java.gem
download it and then run this command in the same directory where you
downloaded the gem to install the gem from he gem archive file:
jruby -S gem install hpricot-0.6.159-java.gem
