gem command errors

When I do:
gem searc queue --remote
I get:
*** REMOTE GEMS ***

Error fetching remote gem cache: NameError: uninitialized constant
Gem::RemoteFetcher::StringIO reading http://gems.rubyforge.org/yaml
It started happening yesterdag when I updated to the latest trunk version:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ jruby -v
ruby 1.8.6 (2008-03-20 rev 6255) [amd64-jruby1.1RC3]
http://gems.rubyforge.org/yaml does exist and I can read it via my browser.
