File.exists? "file:/" crashes jruby (I believe the actual cause is the file:
prefix)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: JRUBY-2524
                 URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/JRUBY-2524
             Project: JRuby
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Core Classes/Modules
    Affects Versions: JRuby 1.1.1
Environment: Mac OSX Tiger, Jruby 1.1.1
            Reporter: Tyler Jennings

URI prefixes on file paths cause some methods in File to throw exceptions. Try
File.exists? "file:/" from jirb for a sample.
