Oh, and to answer your question:
The crash is an obvious bug. The failures/errors in the test suite
could be something simple...obviously RubyGems has been working for a
long time, so this could be environmental or a real bug we've just
never come across otherwise. I don't remember when--if ever--we've run
RubyGems test suite. We probably should start.
