I think that some time ago we had in JRuby build.xml file just a
simple request to fetch rspec/rake, with whatever versions that are
latest, which was problematic, if, say, right before the JRuby release
the rspec/rake versions changes, so it seems that Charlie changed the
build to use particular versions of gems (the most recent versions at
the time, in April), and since then there were no changes, and to this
day the build uses rspec 1.2.6.
We probably should from time to time bump the versions to get the
newer gems. Is something in 1.2.9 really important/critical/useful
that would really force us to switch to it?
I think this is a simple matter of changing the gem version in
build.xml, when needed.
Thanks,
