Dominique Broeglin created JRUBY-6529:
-----------------------------------------

             Summary: ssh.sftp.connect fails with an IOError: closed stream
                 Key: JRUBY-6529
                 URL: https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/JRUBY-6529
             Project: JRuby
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: JRuby 1.6.6
         Environment: Mac OS X Snow Leopard
            Reporter: Dominique Broeglin
            Assignee: Thomas E Enebo
         Attachments: trace_not_working_under_JRuby_1.6.6.txt,
trace_working_under_MRI_1.9.3.txt

The following code generates an IOError: closed stream under JRuby 1.6.6 but
not under MRI 1.9.3:

require 'rubygems'; require 'net/sftp'
ssh = Net::SSH.start('172.16.17.37', 'root', :password => 'toto1234', :verbose
=> :debug)
sftp = ssh.sftp.connect

The environments I'm testing under are two rubies installed via RVM:

jruby 1.6.6 (ruby-1.8.7-p357) (2012-01-30 5673572) (Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit
Server VM 1.6.0_29) [darwin-x86_64-java]
amon:triage dom$ gem list

Detailed sessions with debugs and stack trace are attached to the bug. I'm not
familiar at all with Net/Sftp so I'm at a loss to debug further but would be
happy to provider more information if needed.
