Arturo Bernal commented on JSPWIKI-917:
---------------------------------------
Tried with the current code (master plus an unrelated parser change, Tomcat
10.1, Chrome on a wide screen, default template and skin, English). The
screenshot of the report shows the search window so narrow that the placeholder
reads To search, typ and the button reads For full search. In the current
build, opening the window shows the placeholder To search, type ahead, the
button For full search, hit enter... and the Recent Searches title, all
complete. The window is 273 pixels wide when it opens and still 273 after
typing two letters; only its height changes, from 143 to 171 pixels, to show
the suggestion. So I do not see the cut off area any more.
Limits: I did not run a build from 2015, so I cannot say what changed it; other
skins, languages and narrow screens were not tried, and no search result list
was opened. I leave the issue open for the reporter to confirm.

> Minor usability issue – when using the dynamic search window, its default
> size is such that critical information is cut off (this wasn't the case in
> previous JSPWiki versions). The size automatically snaps to a sensible scale
> once the user starts typing in a search query, but this should be the default.
