Arturo Bernal commented on JSPWIKI-685:
---------------------------------------

Checked in the current code (upstream master) on a running instance (Tomcat
10.1), reading the HTML of the page.

The five lines of the report, a hash line for test, a star line for bag, a star
line for sheet, a hash line for helloagain and a star line for help, give
separate lists: an ol with test, a ul with bag and sheet, an ol with
helloagain, and a ul with help. The second ol is a new list, so it starts at 1,
which is what the report shows.

Nesting in JSPWiki is written with both characters in the prefix of the nested
line. With a hash and a star in the prefix of the bag, sheet and help lines,
the HTML is one ol with two items, test and helloagain, each with its own ul
inside, so the numbers are 1 and 2. So with that markup the numbering is kept;
what the report shows comes from writing the bullets with a single star, which
starts another list.

Limits: I looked at the generated HTML only, not at the page in a browser, and
I did not check whether the help page of the wiki syntax shows the nested form.
Leaving the issue open for the reporter to confirm.

> *help
> produces the following in the page:
> 1. test
> * bag
> * sheet
> 1. helloagain
> * help
