Arturo Bernal commented on JSPWIKI-1324:
----------------------------------------
Pull request: https://github.com/apache/jspwiki/pull/578
The rule .form-group select has max-width: 100% now. With the WAR on Tomcat
10.1, UserPreferences.jsp in Chromium has no element past the right edge at
360, 500, 800 and 1327 px wide; on master there were 2 at 360 px and 1 at 500
px. Not tested: Firefox, Edge and Safari, how the lists look at those widths
(only the position of their edges was measured), and other pages with a select
list in a form.
> The time zone and time format lists of the user preferences page are wider
> than a narrow screen

> Part of the points of JSPWIKI-1099 about the responsive design of the user
> preferences page.
> Measured with the WAR of master (4b436f943) on Tomcat 10.1, loading
> UserPreferences.jsp in Chromium at several widths and taking the right edge
> of every element:
> * 360 px wide: the select of the time format ends at 385 px and the select of
> the time zone at 594 px.
> * 500 px wide: the select of the time zone ends at 594 px.
> * 800 px and 1327 px wide: nothing goes past the right edge.
> The page itself does not scroll sideways (its scroll width is the width of
> the screen), while those lists end past the right edge. The cause is the rule
> .form-group select in forms.less, which does not limit the width, so each
> list is as wide as its longest option.
> Proposal: limit the width of those lists to that of their container.
