Turn on the admin/contrib access control. What needs to happen for users (anyone) to be able to modify stuff? I just created an account and clicked edit for the homepage, 500 internal server error.
If the problem is spam content, then its an EWAM problem, echelons way above me, meaning that there's some kind of flaw in the captcha system. Maybe it needs to be present before any change to the wiki. However, its beyond our control.
