Hi Mario, Thanks for submitting the KIP. With Apache Kafka 3.0 approaching due to KIP-500, it's a good time to tackle a metrics upgrade that may have compatibility implications. Having said that, it would be good to avoid unnecessary breaking changes. Is there a way to avoid changing the metric names?
