Thanks for bringing up this suggestion, Ismael.

Given that the date for adopting new features (aka KIP Freeze) remains the
same and that this release is a major release with goals such as the ones
mentioned by Israel I'm also open to and in agreement with the extension of
Feature Freeze, Code Freeze and the beginning of stabilization phase by two
weeks respectively.

To make this suggestion more apparent and give everyone the opportunity to
raise and discuss any concerns, I'll open a new thread for the 3.0.0 Apache
Kafka release that includes the new release dates.

Let's take any future discussions with respect to the 3.0.0 release plan in
that new thread if you agree.
