Hey folks, just wanted to let you all know we have made a GitHub
configuration change for our PRs.

If you’ve ever wondered why the default commit message in GitHub PRs seems
to be kind of weird and arbitrary, you are not alone! Turns out the
“default” commit message for PRs is rather unintuitive and depends on the
number of commits. We just merged https://github.com/apache/kafka/pull/18967
which changes our default commit to be the PR title and description. This
is not only more intuitive, but it means PRs will always follow the same
pattern for the default commit message.

This change was made possible thanks to an enhancement to .asf.yaml brought
to you by our fine friends at ASF Infra.

Cheers,
David A
