Hi all, I would like to start a vote on KIP-1263: Group Coordinator Assignment Batching and Offload.
The KIP protects group coordinator stability and availability from expensive assignment calculations triggered by clients. To achieve this, we make a tradeoff in rebalance times, which may take up to 1 heartbeat longer to settle.
