Hi Dongjin and Kafka devs, I would like to revive this thread since it seems to have gone stale. There appears to be growing demand for exposing such options (e.g., the recently added ZSTD options: https://github.com/apache/kafka/pull/21568).
I still believe making these options available would be beneficial for the community. To answer your question Dongjin: DL1: yes, we can easily update it not sure what you mean by options (as those are already updates) but I assume you meant primary add co-proposer. Yeah I am fine with that. DL2: sure, if you have spare time go ahead. If you are currently busy I can do it so ... (but anyway we should first see from PMCs if this is something they would like to have). DL3: cool, adding more dataset would be really good to see how those options can change those metrics (e.g., throughput or compression ratio). Cheers, Maros
