They aim to offer the ability to read or dump the Yammer metrics. However,
dumping can be done with JmxTool (yes, we have an official tool). If JMX is
disabled, users can leverage the MetricsReporter interface to access the Yammer
metrics.
KAFKA-14893 is used to discuss exposing Yammer metrics as public APIs. It is
unrelated to this ticket, since Yammer metrics could be exposed via
MetricsReporter if we do want to do that.
