JDK required for building Kafka?

Hi, following the README in the trunk download, I'm getting some errors 
building Kafka trunk with JDK 8 but JDK 7 seems to run smoothly, I'm 
assuming we should be using that?  This page indicates we should be 
using JDK 6 though -- unsure if it just hasn't been updated:

I would guess the Gradle config files would specify the required JDK 
version but I can't see it configured anywhere.  I'll try to update the 
Wiki to clarify build requirements if I can get a response.
