Default {{num.partitions}} documented in 
http://kafka.apache.org/08/configuration.html is 1, while server configuration 
defaults same parameter to 2 (see 
https://github.com/apache/kafka/blob/0.8.1/config/server.properties#L63 )

Please have this inconsistency fixed.
