[~granthenke][~ijuma] It's now over 1 year later. As there are currently many
discussions about deprecating stuff (old consumer, Java 7, ..), it feels like
it might be a good time to start discussing it again. As far as I can tell,
doing this will break compatibility between brokers pre and post 0.9. Currently
we already have 2 versions that would allow migration 0.9 and 0.10 so maybe we
can target this for 0.11 ?
I'm happy to start the discussion if needed, let me know
