So for KARAF-327, I added a unit test yesterday in trunk and using both felix and equinox, the Framework.stop() method is asynchronous and returns quite fast, even if one of the bundle takes a long time to stop. I'll double check with the karaf route now, but I think the problem did not come from the call to framework.stop().
