At least, we can change the import of slf4j as optional (it works on my
local copy).
I will take a look this morning in order to fix the issue in Karaf trunk.

Since this is not exported by pax-logging these bundles can't be resolved in a
reasonable environment.
Just changing the osgi.bnd instructions to remove the import package * breaks
the build.
I'm hoping someone who knows which embedded dependency this import came from
could take a look and come up with a proper fix.
