Hey guys, I did a test drive of 4.0.0-M1 and it looks awesome. You have made great work to move it forward. I even have impression it does start faster. :-)
Going to the point - I wanted to test drive one of features which I was always curious - expanded WAR. From docs I found information to name directory <something>.war, however it does not work for me. I took time to checkout pax-web sources and do a debug session. Seems that fileinstall does something more than ealier. All directories are wrapped in JAR and have appended .jar in name and passed to futher URL transformers to carry on as an archive. In other words ArtifactUrlTransformer always gets a file, never directory. I checked pax-web sources and WarDeployer conditions are completely opposite. This part of deployer was not changed since 2012 so it had to come from other place. Here is a question to maintainers of fileinstall if behavior of it was changed in mean time?
