I didn't spot the Pax URL 3 upgrade. While the bundles installed by default (pax-url-wrap and pax-url-aether) are fine at version 3, pax-url-war would NOT work with Pax Web 8 Pax URL WAR 3 was released to support JakartaEE 9+ API for Pax Web 11 and Karaf 4.4.x should stick to Pax URL 2.6.x. Recently I've released Pax URL 2.6.17 which restores JDK8 compatibility.
