I think Alex hit the big points. A couple others I’d like to add:

  1.  all the legal work that went into getting this into the ASF, and. We had 
to check with past contributors, make sure to get a code grant (which was very 
large, as you can imagine), getting clearance for things like logos and other 
trademarks from Red Hat and other companies.
  2.  Helping the large group of contributors understand how things work at the 
ASF versus what they were/are at employers. This has proven to be somewhat 
difficult, fortunately, I believe we are past the major hurdles here.
