All - I wanted to take a minute to wrap up 2017 with a quick note of thanks to everyone in the Apache Knox community.
Over the last year (actually to the day!) we managed to have 4 releases! We have been lucky enough to receive contributions from a great number of people who are fixing small issues, reporting issues in docs or code, providing additional tests, new features and improvements. We will be releasing 1.0.0 in coming weeks to bring in the New Year and serve as the base for continued progress and innovation. We have added a couple new committers and extended our PMC members. This has lead to more activity, cleaner code and some wonderful innovation! Our feature set is maturing and becoming really impressive with our focus on our KIP based themes for improvements. I see really great things coming from our service discovery and topology generation in terms of manageability and ops and great potential for application developers with our KnoxShell library and DSL and our WebSocket support. We will need to really improve the UI proxying experience through delivering on KIP-9 to simplify the UI service definition creation and address the brittleness of the rewrite rules for UIs. This will be a top priority for post 1.0.0 releases. I'm wishing everyone a happy and peaceful holiday season and a 2018 with rewarding and fun challenges! thanks, --larry
