Lars Francke commented on KNOX-1209:
------------------------------------
This chapter[1] says that WebHDFS and WebHCat are required. Is this really the
case? I'd assume it's not.
The topology port mapping doc has this commented out sentence: "<!--If a
topology mapped port is in use by another topology or process then an ERROR
message is logged and gateway startup continues as normal.-->"
This seems pretty useful to me. Any idea why it's commented out?
I'm reading the docs top to bottom and there are a few sections that are super
hard to parse. The "Sharing HA Providers" one for example I still don't
understand even after reading multiple times. If anyone wants to take a stab at
that.
Also I think a high level introduction to Knox would be great at the beginning.
Especially what a "topology" is could be explained. Maybe with a picture.

> I did this two years ago in KNOX-646 and I've done it again. I did read
> through the whole User Guide and fixed obvious mistakes, inconsistencies and
> formatting things.
> I'm sorry for the "code dump" I hope it's still useful. The patch is pretty
> large but the changes itself are pretty small.
> As last time I won't have much time to work on this patch.
