Larry McCay commented on KNOX-1874:
-----------------------------------
Yeah, they do use the same convention.
I believe this was left over from an early iteration of the versioning support.
What is interesting is even through that directory structure is being used
conventionally it is even a convention and they don't have to done that way. I
don't know that I would have a problem with changing it to be more prescriptive
but we do have to consider the possibility that someone has been using it in
some arbitrary way.

> I was working on editing a service definition file, which resulted in
> creating an emacs lock file '#service.xml#' in the service directory. Knox
> was attempting to load this file, failing to parse it, and ignoring my
> service.
> ServiceDefinitionLoader should only load properly named service definition
> XML files and skip irrelevant items.
