my fault, there's no kylin_hive_conf until 2.x versions.
for 1.x versions, hive compression was hard coded in
JoinedFlatTable#113:
sql.append("SET hive.exec.compress.output=true;").append("\n");
seems you have to changed the code and re-generate binary package by
running script/package.sh
