Hi, Archi
First, you need to check if the property “kylin.server.mode” has been set
to query in $KYLIN_HOME/conf/kylin.properties
Since you are using the binary package, I assume you haven’t make changes
to that property.
Then, you need to check in the kylin.log, if there is a warning for "fail
to acquire lock, scheduler has not been started”, since before the job
scheduler start, it will try to acquire an inter process lock to ensure there
is only one job scheduler instance running in the cluster.
So if you have found the log, the job scheduler has not been started
which means your job will remain in pending state.
There are several reasons for failing to acquire lock, incorrect
zookeeper configuration, timeout. You probably will find the corresponding log
in kylin.log. Hope the log will help you.

Best Regard
