in this case, you should follow liyang's advise.

Duplicate all the stuff in KYLIN_HOME to another folder(s), with only one
conf/kylin.properties's ylin.server.mode set to "all" mode, and the
remaining setting to "query" mode. "all" mode means this instance will take
charge in building cubes as well as answering queries, meanwhile "query"
mode means this instance will not touch cube building.

In this case you'll have multiple instances that can server queries.
