+1 to release v1.7.0 rc1 as 1.7.0. Issue [1] with Ranger 0.x is no longer a blocker to 1.7.0, and the fix PR [2] is ready and good to be shipped later with 1.7.1. Ranger 0.x was a legacy version series with the last commit on 0.7 in Feb 2017 [3].
