Hello,
I wanted to add Oriya (or) to the list of OpenOffice languages. We
had a discussion about this on the [email protected]
mailing list, but I decided to start with a simple localization
effort before thinking of joining the native-lang confederation. I
have reviewed Oriya support in ICU (used for Indic script rendering
under Linux) 3.2 and 3.4 beta, and after fixing a few minor problems,
it now works perfectly there. We are also considering backporting our
changes to ICU 2.6 so that it works with OpenOffice 1.9x/2.0.
As per suggestions from Charles Schulz, I contacted Pavel Janik with
the necessary information for Oriya to be included in the languages
page: http://l10n.openoffice.org/languages.html, but have received no
response. Should I just wait? I am also starting to organize the other
required material, locales, etc., needed for Oriya.
Regards,
Gora
