There is a serious problem with drop-down lists when in RTL mode.
If a user clicks on a combobox to see the drop-down list, then releases the
mouse button, the list should remain open until the user chooses from the list.
In RTL mode, this does not happen. As soon as the user releases the mouse after
clicking the drop-down button, the list goes away, unless the user holds the
mouse button down.
If what you're looking for is further down the list, you can't click on the
scroll bar to scroll down.
The list (and the scroll bar) has already gone away. This can be very irritating
to a user, who expects to able to choose from a drop-down list, only to find
that the list has disappeared before he's had a chance to choose. If the UI
language is changed to English, the behavior is correct.
This affects OOo in Arabic, Hebrew, Parsi, Urdu.
To highlight the seriousness of the problem: in a generally favorable review of a Hebrew alpha
version in the local press, this bug was singled out as particularly bothersome.
I have posted this to Issue Tracker as Issue 55698, but there hasn't been any activity there.
Perhaps someone on this list can help with this bug. I think that one can assume that
just about every single RTL OOo user will come across it, after using OOo for even a short time.
