DearJavier,

2) What fonts will you be using? The default font names are included in
OpenOffice. Any special font for user interfaces? or for normal text in
writer? (you can name different fonts for different issues).
We are using "Tibetan Machine Uni" font provided by Tibetan & Himalayan
Digital. But its name can't present in the font listbox. In future, perhaps the Tibetan font provided by Microsoft in vista would be one of the options.
You can define several fonts, and make the priorities different for different uses. Adding the MS fonts to the list is not a bad idea. To give you an idea, the Dzongkha fonts in OOo are:

<node oor:name="dz" oor:op="replace">
     <prop oor:name="UI_SANS" oor:op="replace" oor:type="xs:string">
       <value>Wangdi;Dzongkha Machine Uni;Tibetan Machine
Uni;Wagdi29;Uchen_05;Tsuig_03;XTashi</value>
     </prop>
     <prop oor:name="CTL_DISPLAY" oor:op="replace" oor:type="xs:string">
       <value>Wangdi;Dzongkha Machine Uni;Wagdi29;Uchen_05;Tsuig_03;XTashi;Tibetan
Machine Uni</value>
     </prop>
     <prop oor:name="CTL_HEADING" oor:op="replace" oor:type="xs:string">
       <value>Wangdi;Dzongkha Machine Uni;Wagdi29;Uchen_05;Tsuig_03;XTashi;Tibetan
Machine Uni</value>
     </prop>
     <prop oor:name="CTL_PRESENTATION" oor:op="replace" oor:type="xs:string">
       <value>Wangdi;Dzongkha Machine Uni;Wagdi29;Uchen_05;Tsuig_03;XTashi;Tibetan
Machine Uni</value>
     </prop>
     <prop oor:name="CTL_SPREADSHEET" oor:op="replace" oor:type="xs:string">
       <value>Wangdi;Dzongkha Machine Uni;Wagdi29;Uchen_05;Tsuig_03;XTashi;Tibetan
Machine Uni</value>
     </prop>
     <prop oor:name="CTL_TEXT" oor:op="replace" oor:type="xs:string">
       <value>Wangdi;Dzongkha Machine Uni;Wagdi29;Uchen_05;Tsuig_03;XTashi;Tibetan
Machine Uni</value>
     </prop>
   </node>

In this list UI_SANS is the font used by the user interface, you can see in the list below that name that Dzongkha Machine Uni will be used if present in the system. If it is not available, it will try to use Tibeta Machine Uni... if it cannot find it either, it will use Wagdi29... and so on. CTL_TEXT is the list for the word processor, etc...

Can you make a similar block for Tibetan?

Is Tibetan Machine Uni an Open Source font?

Javier
