Hi,

I am sending this apology e-mail to all Indic language teams, for the mistake I
have done (getting their language enabled with the help from Openoffice.org
team on pootle)!

Let me introduce myself first if you don't know me...

Name: Ankit Patel
Language co-ordinator for: Gujarati
Projects: Fedora, Gnome, XFcec Openoffice, Mozilla
Groups I belong to: all above projects + Indlinxu + IndianOSS
Since last 5 years, I have been into localization, quitely working on Gujarati
Localization, trying to keep translations almost 100% for most of the projects
I localize!

The mistake I have done:
- I have asked Openoffice.org tools team to enable Indic languages (as, bn_IN, gu,
hi, pa, ta, te, ml, mr, or, kn) on their pootle server, because I thought it would
be good & easy for all these language maintainers to work on the Openoffice
localization collaboritively along with the community.
- The reason I chose these languages, because I know at least one language
maintainer from the above mentioned languages teams and wanted to help them.
- The major mistake I have done is, didn't inform/asked the respective language
leads about this. The reason behind doing so is, I have already been in touch
with tools team, and had communication going on about the improvements on
pootle for adding more languages, so thought it was good if I ask the tools
team directly to enable these 11 Indic languages altogether, which would become
easier task for both the parties (tools team, as well as the respective
language teams).
- Because of these efforts there is new pootle server prepared for the above
Indic languages + few more other languages.
- So, the process (Open source way) has not been followed by me over here, but
my intension was never to harm anyone's feelings or language!

If you are reading this e-mail, and your language is included because of me, and
don't want to get your language on pootle server, please let me know, I will talk
to the tools team & get your language disabled!

Apologies once again to all Indic language teams, who didn't like my actions on
adding languages on pootle!

Apologies to Aijin and Raefella too, for bothering them about adding all indic
languages since last 6 months!

Let me know, If I can do anything for you on the above issue. I am available on IRC on
FreeNode server (#fedora-l10n, #indlinux, #Openoffice.org) with nick "ankit"...

Regards,
Ankit
