For what it is worth, we (OOo) abide by ISO designations; the exceptions to this rule are very rare and probably unique and I do not think apply here. The ISO is an international consortium whose authority and validity in this area are unimpeachable. We must not initiate a policy of accommodation of this nature when it is better to find solutions with the others involved.
