+1 on non-configuration based approach. imho, additional configuration looks
overweight.
I can compare this exactly to FileSystem object of hadoop. A key-based factory
pattern approach should be sufficient. Like hadoop's
[FileSystem.get|https://github.com/apache/hadoop/blob/trunk/hadoop-common-project/hadoop-common/src/main/java/org/apache/hadoop/fs/FileSystem.java]
method.
