To be honest I don't think DC
was designed for machine reading initially (whereas I might be wrong)
and this way all kind of things can go wrong ...

I think it's better to save it in a separate tag as suggested above with
a non-dc namespace. Also see

I just finished a lenya meta data generator for a customer and if we
start mixing stuff in e.g. dc then the meta data api would change and
the generator will not work as expected.

you cannot expect Lenya to apply to your specific personal or your customers needs.
I think if your generator isn't flexible enough that an additional
tag is being inserted, then I would say something is wrong.

We need a better SOC in the metadata and mixing stuff is IMO
counterproductive.

it's not about mixing concerns, but rather about cleanly separating.
God didn't tell that DC is *the* metadata spec! And what if there is no
god anyway ...
